Materico

Contemporary Circus

Materico

50 min | indoor and outdoor | all ages | created in 2025

Two eccentric sculptors are grappling with the creation of their next work of art. Time is running out, but the work has already begun. The scene becomes a living studio: two bodies in dialogue and 120 kg of colored modeling clay.
The protagonists themselves become the material to be shaped, and the masses of modeling clay influence and transform their movements and choices.
“Materico” is a visionary and powerful circus performance that explores how everything is constantly transforming: bodies, matter, and relationships.
It is a sensory experience that challenges roles and hierarchies, sculpting new forms of expression through the language of contemporary circus.

Thematic focus

Co-productions

Madame Rebiné collaborates with artistic partners sharing a common vision, with the aim of supporting meaningful projects and contributing to the development of contemporary circus through co-productions, collaborative project development, and networking. The collaboration with DO.C.C. (Documentazione per il Circo Contemporaneo) is part of a broader partnership dedicated to the research, promotion, and support of contemporary circus. In addition to the co-production of Materico, this partnership has led to the creation of Il circolo del circo and several other initiatives currently under development.
