Filò
A conversation on the Twentieth century with Friuli Venezia Giulia elders
60 min. | indoor theatre spaces | +10 years | creation 2025
A video-documentary telling the story of the Twentieth century through the point of view of the residents of Friuli Venezia Giulia’s nursing homes. Not a history lesson for sure: but rather an intimate and playful tale to reflect on important issues such as memory, communication and old age. The project is inspired by the tradition of filó, typical of the turn of the century, when people gathered in the stables in the evenings to stay warm, work, play and chat.
The screening can be paired with various activities and can be adapted to any context, be it schools, libraries and any cultural space.

Thematic focus
Old Age Cycle
Since 2011, Madame Rebiné has been exploring the figure of the elderly as a poetic and comic icon, a natural clown filled with human contrasts: gentleness and harshness, altruism and selfishness, suffering and euphoria, fear and recklessness. This gives rise to performances and projects that give voice, space and dignity to the elderly.
